DeepSense is an innovative system developed for farmers to estimate crop yield by using a low-cost device to collect data from all fields.

As the world population keeps growing, and the weather is getting more unpredictable, food security will become a challenge. It is important to forecast crop yield and related risks to prepare for storage as well as transportation so that stable supply can be maintained.

However, current yield estimation methods are labour-consuming and slow responding.

DeepSense is a new approach of yield estimation. It consists of a service system and adaptive devices to carry out crop yield estimation. The service goal is to optimise the process of yield estimation and support all the farmers to forecast risk and get a fair price for the crop.

DeepSense is a new system developed for farmers to estimate crop yield by using a low-cost device to collect data from all fields. The device connects with each other and forms a high-density network that gets essential parameters in the farm. Collected data is used to predict the yield and let farmers manage their farms more efficiently and sustainably.

With DeepSense, people would no longer do yield estimation manually, and immediate information can significantly reduce the risk of the unstable food supply.
